The Origin Story: Our story begins with Bill, the heart and soul of Vermont Renovation and Remodeling. Bill’s journey into the world of renovation began in Boston, where he and his wife flipped houses, laying the groundwork for what would become a lifelong passion. Upon moving to Vermont, this passion only grew, leading to the project we’re discussing today.

The Challenge: The project at hand was a unique block house in Vermont, a rarity in itself. The family who owned it had cherished this home for over 20 years. Built in the early fifties, the house had an aura of nostalgia, but it required significant updates to meet modern living standards.

Redefining Spaces: One of the main goals was to open up the living spaces. Houses built in the fifties often had smaller, more segmented rooms, a stark contrast to the open-plan living popular today. Our focus was the kitchen and the front entry, transforming them into welcoming, spacious areas for family gatherings.

Preserving the Past: What stood out in this project was the intricate woodwork. The wood, aged gracefully by the sun over 70 years, had a unique character impossible to replicate. Our mission was to preserve this essence while infusing modern comforts.
